I've got a lady who thinks she's got a badger, she's got huge holes in her yard. she says she can dump rocks down the hole and it will be clear in the morning. going to go take a look on Sunday, but I thought you all might have some advice. If it is a badger, best way to trap it? what to look out for? etc. thanks in advance!

No trap needed.
Drown it out.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

If legal, a 220 over the hole, or make a dirt hole with stinky predator bait (I use John Graham's Cat creek). You can't catch what isn't there. Badgers are notorious for digging...looking for food, and you won't see them again. If he's living there, you should be able to catch him. I want to caution you...if you use a foothold, and catch him, the damage he's done so far will pale in comparison to what he'll do in a trap. Good luck!

I caught this badger last month doing raccoon work. The ground was rock hard, and it was caught by the back foot. If there would have been moisture in the ground, it would have dug to China.

Use EXTRA LONG cross stakes, and maybe with a drag.
