Found one lions mane about half the size of a volleyball in good shape but no hens.

How do you cook your lions mane? I found one couple weeks ago and cooked it in garlic and butter not much flavor to it

Haven't found any here but it's been extremely dry.

57 years trapping. It's who I am. Every day is still as exciting as it was when I was a kid but a little more work.

I usually cut them in strips, egg wash, dredge in seasoned flour ,and fry in bacon grease. I think they'd be good in some kind of Cajun casserole with quite a bit of hot sauce. They are definitely not as flavorful as the hen of the woods or oysters.

Four Hens a month ago.
Nothing since.
Not much here this year.
On a good year I will be somewhere between
80 and 100 photos by now.
Severe drought and extra warm year here.
Could be why.
I have couple hundred host tree GPS locations.
And usually do several Mushroom Safari trips every week..
Rain forecasted today.
I'll look again in 3-4 days.
Last chance effort for me.
