Can one get by with having just the larger size coon board for all coon sizes or is it advised to have boards for up to XL & boards for XL and bigger? trying to keep my spending to a minimum, cause all iv got now is wire stretchers form when I was younger but id like to use wood this go around.

Maybe get bigger wood boards and make the wire ones for smaller ones, til you can afford other boards.

Wire works for all of them if you are trying to keep your spending down. You can open them up some for bigger coon. And they arent worth enough to spend lots of money.

I have piles of #4 wire, but I was wanting to go to good cause of the better look but you might be right, at the price they at right now is prolly a nothing burger.

So in use the #4 wire for smaller one & use larger boards for Xl and above?

Get/make all your coon boards with 7.5" pelt base width.

That's all you will need for southern coon.

7" wide at 30 Is the industry size.

I planed on making my own but Im running shot on time to do stuff, time is in hot demand & if a fella figured out how to make it he'd be rich

My buyer said he will not be buying anything but 2XL or larger. So I just bought stretchers to accommodate

I'll just get boards for XL and up & use wire for anything below

Southern coon XL and up = 7.5" skirt width.

Only gonna be worth average of $1 to $3 for the very best batch of southern coon.
