My wife and i were on our way home from my grandsons football game, and a couple of elderly people were walking their dogs.
Out of nowhere came a pitbull and started fighting their dogs,I stopped the pickup and started to kick the pit to keep it from biting
,I had some help from another guy and we got the darn thing away.I don't think it hurt the other dogs, but it sure tried to.
After we left and on our way home,I said to my wife ,I'm glad i didn't have a gun on me,I believe i would have used it.
I think we figured out were the pit came from, and i hope they call the law on them.

I was wound up when i got home and burnt my steaks!!!!!!!!!!

That's tragic. The steak's.

Also really unfortunate about the Pit. I just about always have my side arm but I have OC also for dogs. POM makes a good discreet powerful one. I highly recommend it.

I have yet to see a dog not stop when hit with a very good shocker stick, couple times with that and they have in my use run away, I won't tolerate loose dogs, but I won't shoot one in the neighbor hood either, they stop to have a smell they get jabbed hello, and off they run !

sounds like some tool even if it isn't a gun should maybe ride in your door pocket or someplace handy.

hammer , hatchet , knife , machete , large wrench

if it had turned on you when you started kicking it you might have been in for a ride

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

POM stands for "peace of mind"
Lots of the last minute pepper spray grabs you find in stores are garbage. OC is the best to fight off predators. Especially to protect birds. Birds are immune to the heat effects of capsaicin.

Careful kicking dogs. Some bunny hugger might set the popo on you.

Once had one meet me in the yard and wouldn't back down growling so I hit it with a burst of pepper spray. It ran off howling. Some lookyloo passerby saw it and wanted to get all mouthy with me so I gave the can a shake and invited him to step into the yard to say it to my face. He didn't take me up on it.

Next I know I got the sheriff deputy knocking on my door.

People are weird.

BTW, what made that one go away was the fact that at the time I worked uniformed armed security and had the option of 45 or pepper and chose the pepper.

The deputy eventually admitted that he would've chosen the 45.

I’m not a pitbull hater, I’ve owned them and they can be good. Any dog can be a (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman).

Gotta control your dog.

That being said, any dog attacks unprovoked and it is getting dealt with at a level that will stop the threat.

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Laws usually permit OC.

Firearms can make things really tricky for you. Unwanted legal attention. I find it totally justified to end a threat but if you can use OC in most self defense encounters, you should. Nobody wants to loose their gun for "evidence" in any self defense incident unless it's literally the only thing that will work.

Should outlaw some people then. lol.

It’s the training. I’ve been bit by police dogs more than pit bulls. You gonna ban Charlie?

lol.

There's a purpose for powerful animals like a pit. Nothing pleases me more than seeing that gratification in a dog's face after taking down something. XD

Soft, uneducated people keep trying to "nannify" them and ultimately can't control them. Its cruel
