When I was bear hunting this year I never seen a single one which I thought was odd seems to be less every year

I have seen more broods this year than in recent years. No woodcock at all. It is extremely dry here so any woodcock won't stick around long. Populations of both of those critters varies tremendously with local conditions. Sorry but I have no idea about the Danbury area.

I am about 45 miles from Danbury seems like grouse might be up a little, still not good though. I have been seeing a few woodcock in the tag alders.

Headed up yonder in the morning. Anybody been after the grouse up there? Gonna hit a cool off anyway.

Walked 20 minutes behind the house yesterday and kicked out two ruffs and one woodcock. 1 for 3. Have fun out there.
