I have found over the years that besides myself there are not a large number of people I enjoy spending time with And as time goes on I am not even sure about myself And another thing that has crossed my mind more than a few times in the last 20 year is at least 5 of my most favorite people in the world are in fact dogs What comes to my mind is I am perfectly happy go spend time and talk to anyone But if I see the conversation turning bad and the other party is promoting is a self appointed expert opinion that is of more use as a fertilizer than fact My low tolerance factor of people imposing their 4 footed beef cattle waste byproduct almost always gets me in trouble Like the saying goes It is better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you are not

I spend 8 months a year living in the civilized world and dealing with other people when and as necessary. The next 4 months is what I live for. I'll come home for a couple days at Thanksgiving and Christmas, but aside from the occasional couple hour round trip into the nearest town to resupply, I'll be lucky to see 2 people a month for the next 4 months. And half of them will probably be wardens.

Nice!!!! Yep there are weeks the only people/person I talk to is my wife/son/grandkids. When I'm not at the ranch miles from anyone, I want to be. If something every happened to the wife I would move to ranch for 8 to 9 months a year. Cell phone works there if you go up high, no power where I would live, one way in one way out.
I lose track of time when I'm there love the isolation and being in nature.

I had LP lights in the UP like a Coleman lantern they worked great for lights. I bought one of the smaller solar security lights those will have potential in the future if you’re set up right for them to recharge easily.

I've typically used a propane lantern at night when processing fur outdoors, then a rechargeable battery lantern inside my little camper. This year I bought a set of USB lights and tried them outdoors while scouting and tent camping. They worked so well that I bought another set of 4. I figure on running 4 in my camper, then another 4 in my skinning enclosure. They run off of deep cycle batteries with very little draw at all.

NevadaMick... grin
I have ZERO Hobbie s or interests other then outdoors related stuff.
Give 2 craps about sports, political stuff, people talking $$,
Just don't care to spend one second of my day in those topics.
Flip side is, I know I'm not welcomed into other people's mind when talking hunting, fishing, trapping, gathering firewood.

Seems every year, some « expert« will try talking to me about how good a cord of Popple is better then a cord of oak.

You couldn't pay me 1000.00$ in 100.00 bills to go to ANY sporting event, political anything, concert, ect.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.
