I had to drive those Mavericks occasionally. They were company cars when I worked for Ohio Edison in the late 70's. They were a terrifying piece of junk to drive. The poor maintenance and bald tires didn't help a bit. I had a '69 Mustang but not the beautiful fastback version in the add.

minimum wage here was $1.65. Those beautiful autos were still far out of the price range for most of us.

It's barely visible now.

My dad bought a Dodge Coronet with slant six for $2700 brand new in '68.

Later it became my first trapping rig.

I once owned a 55 Ford Sunliner convertible. It had no rust, but I sold it because MN winters were too hard on the rag top. I had to keep it outside all year long.
I showed a photo of it to a local Ford dealer. He said it would be worth big bucks now.

I would take one of each if they'd still honor the price. Probably not, though.
