Start eating beans pronto and make sure she has some.
When she asks. "What's that God awful smell?! Just tell her, "Why Pookie, That's probably me, unless you had some of those beans..."
She will likely blame you, but secretly wonder if she had one lingering in her clothes.
That's about as clean of a break I can come up with.
One thing you can't do is blame a Shih-Tzu.
That breed is incapable of shame and will not accept blame.
We had one and when you scolded her, she just looked at you with that face like she was saying, "What are YOU going to do? Tell Mom? Good luck with that."

Now this just made my day!! Got hit by a stinker Christmas morning awhile back, the plan was to go to church that morning...... Of course that didn't`t happen.

What is it with these Shih Tzus? I had mine out running around in the yard. There were some wild turkeys in the yard prior. I saw him eating something and it was turkey droppings. Later, he was sitting on the bed with the wife and I while we were watching tv. Wife looked at me and asked if he had gotten into something when I had him out cause he stinks. I just shrugged.

I have this little game I play. I live In town and have lots of dog walkers passing my house.
I place all kinds of lure In different spots along my side walk. It's a blast watching those dogs roll and carry on. And the walkers have no Idea what's going on.
