My friends talks like "my chickens will eat anything,...(Probably even their uncle Clucks)"
And I bring them sproutes grains and scraps and I feel like they never have an appetite for it. (Exaggerated )They eat plenty of bugs. I just want them to have enough energy for the winter. All the animals IV owned these 14.5 years have been like this. I'll free feed my dogs and cats and without any problems with over eating. Is this a doing something right or wrong kinda thing? Again, not directed at you Smash! Lol you're welcome to chime in if you want

Sorry, I don't actually free feed my chickens which is part of why it's puzzling. Only two left. They have no problem running me out of the yard trying to eat my lamb fur coat. Lol
The question I can't figure out is why does it appear my animals don't have an appetite? Now that I'm writing it out I realized how dumb my question is. It's probably a quality thing.
