This is my second year trapping. Last year first trap I ever set in my life had a coyote in it the next morning. Well this year started off the same. Very first trap I set had this waiting for me on the first check.
Missed one this morning out the kitchen window with the rifle. Guess it was farther than I thought or hit the field fence. Redemption was waiting for me after work.

It's so beautiful! Is it as grey as the photo looks?

Yes. I'm pleased even though it's a young one.

You and Uncle Flipper are so good you don't even need a 3 night soak like the rest of us.

Good job!

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

If same spot next time set two traps there. You can't get doubles with only one trap.......jk

I pulled the trap. There's another on the trail on the other side of the fence, as well as 2 others set the same ( one on each side of the fence in the trail) in the next ravine.

It was a three night soak. Butchered some hogs and dumped the guts about a hundred yards from the traps. Figured that would get some traffic down the trail

Wicked! Just goes to show that you don’t have to start trapping by targeting the easy stuff. Just study a bit and trap what you want.
I’ve never seen grass in NV. But I’ve only been between Vegas and the Grand Canyon on our yearly February trips…lol. A couple coyotes were causing a traffic jam near the canyon though.
You must be in the northern part of the state?

“Starting off on the right foot”…..like us, a lot of K9 are right “handed”. I think it was Gulo on here that noticed that.
