Cool pics Larry!

Partner and I had good Fisher results with Log Cubbies (since I started this post a few years ago).

I had this fella tell me about these log cubbies, but he hasn't taken me on any trapping adventures to show me them in use.... jk

I used two a few years back and left them in place to use in future years but haven't returned

Here’s a big one. A 330 in front of this hole catches all kinds of stuff. It’s big enough to hang a beaver inside.

Hern those things look good (and heavy). For cats an strickly cats- you dont need to work that hard.

Back in the 90s I burned wood and cut enough to sell for gas or beer money. I partnered on a trap line along Gypsum Creek where Rob Webster had permission to hunt / trap the place and I was just cutting wood.
When crops were out and it was dry or frozen I could drive the edge of a terraced field and cut up standing dead or seasoned downed limbs. I left a smallish pile of uglies I never came back for and a couple bigger trunks at the bottom accidentally formed up a cubby.

Long and the short of it, we caught 7 cats out of the front (facing the row crop stubble) of that little hole the firewood formed and I don't know how many coon on the back side facing the creek.

If you cut wood you can give a little to the cause b/c the fur sells way better than the odds n ends. Works like a charm.

We accidentally figured out a cubby open (and guarded) on both ends has a much lower rate of refusal (not that coons or cats are wary LOL but a see thru will slay em all.)

That's cool.
I have made many, many rock or brush pile cubbies (over the years). I can relate to what you are saying.

If anyone is still following this post...
No matter what cubby I'm using (hollow log, rocks or brush) it is backed up with 1 or 2 dirtholes nearby. Just saying...
