What's your plans?
I think I'll go set up this house I found last week. I found it on the last day of a 7 day beaver work contract. I hand shovelled 25 dams in the process. Got water running pretty good again. Even though th contract is done and I've been paid I still want to go and trap this house out. Besides that I might look for a moose or grizzly and get some gear ready for marten and maybe do some cleaning before we get serious snow. Whatever your plans may be I wish you good luck and a safe productive weekend

The dam is about 80 yards downstream of the house so I'm thinking two dam breaks and traps at the entrances and any bank dens. Got to admit this beaver trapping is growing on me.

I got some help from studying satellite pics. There a couple dams I didn't mark so the true number is more like 28-29

Dry land trapping opens here in WI tomorrow. Gonna set some for coon. Yes, I know hides will be blue. Landowners want them gone before the rut kicks in heavy.

I’m on call, but gotta get some wolf sets in the dirt at a buddy’s cabin. I’d like to wait but he wants em gone…lol. Removing some beaver sets set up for the province, and hopefully some actual work if the phone rings. Mb Hydro pays a bit better than MIT of the RMs……sometimes not by much…lol

Ryan those are some salmonidae streams the beaver are blocking or pre-emptive road wash-out.

Working with only sundays off till the weather shuts it down.

Trapping beaver here too Ryan,and pigging out on grouse.
Beaver trapping pretty much year round for me,but this time of year is nice-get to maintain trails and fix up the marten boxes and jackpots and see whats running in the bush.
Lots of mink sign,some fresh bear scat (dont like that) and loads of grouse again this fall.Moose tracks everywhere.Must have helped them out when I took those 9 wolves last december in there.
