Tman is getting me through this shift. Some nights, I just don’t want to be here. Anyone else got night jobs?

Present*waves*

Night shift is really taxing

Been doing it 5 years. My entire internal clock is ruined

No night work for me but T man has always gotten me through some long, boring times too.

I have nothing clever to put here.

What line of work are you in?

I work nights by choice. Lots of freedom in my work schedule. Summer had me coming in after dark as it was just too hot outside (and hotter inside!). The schedule just sorta stuck.

Plus, no traffic on the commute.

Well for a little bit longer. I'm done at 10pm. Normal shift is 2p to 10p. I work a lot l f 12 hour shifts though. 10a to 10p. I hate graveyard shifts. I done plenty of them years ago.

I'm a Homemaker by "career" so what I do is so I can modify my schedule for my family. I clean facilities, like office and bathhouses. The heat during the day is huge one for me, too.

The term "siesta" because you HAVE to in order to function here in TX is something I'm very familiar with.

(Sorry, that comment was probably not directed at me) Oops lol

I am far from TX but even here in MN I appreciate a mid day "Siesta".

Hats off to you regarding the cleaning of the bathhouses. My comment was for everyone. Curious what folks do for work

You guys bringing your own lunch? I only get 30 minutes and food isn’t close. DoorDash takes a big chunk of my paycheck. Now I’m hungry

Actually I try not eating at night if I can help it.

I miss 24 Walmart, though.... Nothing is open anymore.

I worked in maintenance in a hospital. A city that never shuts down. I was on call for years inside then after I got some time in, outside. On call was the worst inside, you never knew what was next. It could be no power in the quad of the hospital, to fire or water alarms. After I got some years of seniority, was was able to go outside. Mowing, trimming maintenance on outside equipment. On call from November 15th to April 15th for snow removal. That was the best. At least you new if you was going to be call out.

I’m on call after hours this week and there’s hasn’t been a trouble call after 16:30 for 2 friggin nights. The good news is I can use the corporate vehicle for personal use as long as I stay I’m my district…..which is a good chunk of southeast Manitoba. I’ll head to a coworkers cabin in an hour or so to get some steel in the dirt and probably check a few beaver sets.
