I never really believed God was real most of my life. I came from an agnostic and athiest background(parents)but my grandparents always believed and prayed. The things I did in early life were just because I was wild and had no direction. My grandfather came here alone from Italy at 16...spent months coming here and got citizinship by fighting in ww1. My parents were real good examples what a person shouldnt be. I left home at 12 and made my way thru school, college etc. My grandfather was police chief in a small town,,,,my stepdad a decorated vet pilot in ww2 but never had compassion for people. At the age of 62 the holy spirit came to me and told me he was here and how God had been protecting me all my life when I was trying to die(I didnt realize it at the time) I was on a death course. I lost several children and at 55 God gave me Sal. Bad heart valve from birth and leukemia 16 yrs without chemo God has allowed me to live. He promised me he would. I spend 2 nights a week involved with church because I need the strength of good christians. 45 broken bones 5 surgeries ,coma etc God has given me life. I have experienced many countries and cultures and seen so many things. He can give life to you also even if you are hardheaded like me.

Tell me about that moment, when you realized Jesus was the Saviour.
I had a similar experience. I grew up in an area that was disconnected from Christian influence. I might as well been living in the bushes of Papua New Guinea.
Thank you for sharing, brother. I know you wanted to give hope and encouragement here today. I'm so glad you came to the knowledge that you're deeply loved by God. It changed my life. Almost two decades now.

That's fantastic, brother! Others may want to hear it here, unless it's " too personal". You do whatever is most comfortable for you. I had a unique situation, myself. Long story short, I was a teenager couch hopping and estranged from my family. Someone told me "Jesus loves me" and I had never heard anything like it, before. That moment, although no one ever gave me a clear understanding of the Gospel, it was enough to change my life and find out who this "Jesus" was. Years later, painfully too long, I did eventually hear a clear testimony from the Bible about "what must I do to be saved" (Acts 13:30-31 KJB). God saved me and family and I am full of gratitude beyond anything I could ever express. He is so good. So much love and mercy from my Saviour. Even when I wasn't "His", He knew my heart and navigated me to where I needed to be. God bless you guys!
