Yes and no. On years when the neighbors have corn planted I get the "Satellite bucks" working around the corn. That corner of the property is the place to be. On years when they have other crops planted, then the bucks hang closer to the house and apple tree plots. I just hate hunting on the front 40.

I have nothing clever to put here.

He sure has a morning routine down tight.

He's heading into a thick bedding area.

Not sure how he exits it in the evening. I " think" I know but I'm not going back there to figger it out.
Will wait till conditions are right, slip in the and hunt. I have one ladderstand tight to the riverbank. I'm guessing that's where he exits in the eve.

I haven't seen a Pope&Young buck yet on my place. It is very unusual not to see 140 to 150 class but not this year. No moose either. I haven't even hunted yet, so many out of state hunters it is unreal. Alabama to Mn and all states in between I have seen here and some neighbor's places lease to the southern and eastern people. That makes it pretty tough for a local in the middle of that hard hunting which takes place.

Good Luck!

Great Pictures MJM!!!!

Based on 99% of the numerous pics of the same deer he’s nocturnal. Good luck killing him. Of course when the rut starts all bets are off on his patterns go out the window. Next pic you post of the same deer is you beside him.
Good luck

Thanks Sis.
He just showed up.
He's not " nocturnal" anymore.

Oh wait.. he hasn't been at all.
Actually, he moves quite a bit during daylight.

I'm watching him right now. He's making scrapes along a food plot edge. Fun to watch.

I ran cameras today and just had small 8's or smaller. I did have 3 different diaper eaters on 3 different cameras, one of which ripped my 30 pound propane tank off the mount and chewed the hose off. Another left about 3 pounds on undigested corn on the bottom step of one stand. I think there should be a bounty on these things. I hate them!

Doug. Now days, yep.

I really don't give much of a rip if I kill a big buck ( not really, but sorta).
This is just a fun thing I've been doing for years.

I'd been experimenting with the " rubbing" post things for several years but never Nailed down the right technique.
Always used the wrong kind of tree.
Wasn't till about 8/ 10 years ago, I was working for a Muskie fishing old buddy of yours from S.D. (
DP)
I was out in his pasture one day and seen a cedar fence post that had been " hour glassed" by bucks rubbing it for years. Fence line no longer used and asked if I could take it with me. Yep.
I pulled it and brought it back to Mn and dug it in. Didn't get touched.
That became my obsession with finding something that would work.
Posted what I did on several hunting forum and now seems like Everyone is doing it! Lol.
