Thursday and Friday saw a fair amount of birds. A lone goose was lucky I stick by the rules because at two minutes after close he was hovering over my decoys. The biggest Gadwall I have ever gotten in 59 years of duck hunting was not so lucky. About a half hour before close I was working a pair of Mallards with my call and he suddenly appeared right over my decoys. When he first hit the water I thought he was a big Greenhead due to the size. I was surprised when I picked him up.

Otherwise been pretty slow down here. Have not heard much shooting except right at shooting time and not much pressure as seen from the rigs at the boat landing. Sure hope it picks up soon.

Son and I have been taking both Grandsons out and having a blast! Not sure about this afternoon yet.
