Nessy, I not only hunt like him……I hunt almost exactly like him …..I hunt in a couple of his spots. Sometimes I even use his stuff too……!!! No cameras here
He died in the early 2000’s at the age of 96……….

No cameras, no blinds, no deer stands, no camo, no food plots, etc... drivers push deer to the standers, just like grandpa did. No setting around waiting for something to happen, make it happen. Ah yes, Iowa shotgun season! That's the way we do it too. Usually fill all our tags in a day and a half, maybe two. That's enough deer hunting for me. Some of our group are bow hunters too and use cameras and such.

The First Amendment of free speech ...is alive and well...by me Thanks nessy. Been busy last few days and didn’t realize I’d been banned from certain threads! WOW amazing! But whatever. Always heard as men age they circle back to being babies. Guess deer slayer is buddies with one of the moderators so even if I wish him good luck it goes poof. But it fine. More important things in life than getting views. But it’s ok. I’ll remember not to comment on certain post. Funny how people memory is short. But rest assured mines not. r... Ever shoot one over a bait pile LL? Oh no. First I don't shoot [at] many hogs- hit one or 2 and the rest wise up. 2nd if I make a pile there is a trap or some strategically placed snares around it and trappin is the most efficient answer to pop control. Up in the panhandle they use choppers to put down lots of vermin but in brush country you'd add up an even bigger chopper / pilot / fuel tab because you'd have to napalm the place first and then shoot the survivors after.

Nope. Had several paragraphs typed out but deleted them. I’ll just say jealousy is strong with some and if you can’t kill a deer, cameras ain’t gonna do a thing for you. I did the same thing, typed a big post and then deleted it. Trail cameras are educating and fun!

I don’t think a game camera is cheating, it’s no different then looking at a deer trail and setting up there

Cameras that call your phone in real time give a bit of an advantage . On hogs, YES! I’m not sitting out all night waiting on hogs to show when I can set up a camera that lets me know when they show up. Think it’s called working smarter, not harder. Camera goes off, I get a pic on the phone, I’m there in less than 15min and the sneak is on!! Of course you’ve got to understand pigs and how much bait is at the site to know whether it’s even worth leaving the house. If you just baited, go back to sleep, they ain’t staying long. If there’s very little food in the deck, go ahead and leave. Those greedy turds ain’t leaving until the last nut or kernel is gone. 10-15min feed time if there’s a lot of bait, 45min - 2hrs if there’s very little. It’s just the opposite of what you’d think. So yeah, a cell camera for hogs is a must. I’m guessing y’all’s game up north are very predictable. Ours aren’t. A deer, hog, coyote might show up tonight at 6:30pm. It may show up tomorrow night at 9pm. It may not show up Tuesday or Wednesday, then Thursday it might show up at 6:30pm on a camera 400yds away. It may take a certain trail 2 days in a row and not hit that trail again for another week. Y’all have seen my pics with bait and big deer and a stand in the background and assume that’s where the buck will be killed, lol. I can tell y’all have NEVER hunted near bait and it shows from the comments. I’ll kill does from that stand, but killing a big buck is pretty slim. Yeah he may come in if I was in it, but being able to draw my bow undetected with about a dozen deer all around me are very slim odds. All you’ll do is blow everything out and possibly educate that buck. I can get away with “scent” on some does and 3.5yr old bucks and younger, but once they reach 4.5 one little molecule of your scent and they fade into the thick like they were never there. The bait is in areas they’re already feeding ( had 19 deer around me one evening and only 3 on camera) All the others were on acorns. For the big bucks I’ll have to put up a lock on or climber or even a chair in some macheted out thick mess for the forecasted wind on trails leading to that area. It may be 75-150 yards away. Based on the wind today, I’m gonna sit in a thick ground spot this evening about 100yds away from my camera. I have a trail to my left and one straight out in front of me. The one in front has a couple of scrapes along it. Max distance will be maybe 20yds either lane. I have just enough room to pull my bow back, lol.

Wouldn’t it be cool if hunters and trappers just let others to as they wish?
Don’t want to use cameras, that’s cool.
Don’t want to use a longbow and use a compound or crossbow? Good for you.
We have enough problems with antis no need to help them out.
Look what they are trying to do to us in Colorado. Maybe focus your energy on stopping that.
