What's eveyone got as far as favorite recipes for these things ? Never really been a fan of the poppers that eveyone down here seems to exclusively make with them .

I like to keep it simple because I really enjoyed the taste of dove and pigeon breast. Fried rare or medium
rare in butter on cast-iron. Maybe a little salt or pepper and good to go.

I think it’s a sin to wrap them in bacon. If you want bacon, eat bacon. I don’t know why anybody would want to disguise the flavor of dove or pigeon with a strip of bacon.

Eh...wot?

Pop the meat of the breast, fry with gravy, or drop them in grits, or stir fried rice and breast. Or just grill whole and serve with beans and coleslaw. I love the poppers. In fact the only reason not to make them is if everyone is standing around because they get eaten as soon as they’re taken up!!!
