Will be trapping a little bit of everything. Not going at it gung ho this year. Will put out some skunk boxes and fox sets soon. Then a little water trapping for beaver and mink. Might trap a few coon later in the season after Thanksgiving. Have them tanned and maybe get that coon blanket done next year. Get out and set a half dozen dirt holes NTO. You never know if you don't go out and try. You can always pull them if your heart isn't in it this year.

Starting with rats in a week or so, then rats mink and coon, till the middle of November. Them mainly coyotes and cats and what ever else in in the area from there on. The area I'll be trapping is about 10 townships. Just shy of a quarter million acres..

From your past posts, I really don't think it's any of your business ! We live free and try to stay that way. We trap and control as needed. You do yours and we'll do ours. Curious about your reply.

32 million acres here in Oregon , along with thousands of other public land users as a bonus
It gets real interesting when odfw shuts off thousands of miles of roads Dec 1st ( opening day of cat season ) condensing everyone to main arteries.

I'm trapping rats this week. I'm trapping for the city of Madison doing ADC work. The Rats look good. The funny thing Is that I caught 16 rats on the first check, and everyone was a male.

That is interesting. Does it seem as if your rat population is near a peak. When our fox and coyote population started to decline from a rodent crash or over population they start having small litters with a high percentage of male pups. And the opposite it true when the prey base is on the increase. A high percentage of female pups and large litters. I've certainty cought a high percentage of male muskrats in the spring on floats.

The feds do that here on national wildlife refuges to "potect" the nesting eagles. Never figured that one out because deer are a ground animal not a tree animal. Then they allow hunt clubs to run dogs on the refuge and run the deer off to be killed while the rest of us just..... , we'll you can guess what!
