The one and only Rush Limbaugh. Before your time, but he basically worked for free to build a daytime newstalk slot on WABC New York back during the Bush the Elder Administration. He hit the big time and took it national ultimately owning the noon to three slot in every AM market in the country in addition to his own show and production company.
He literally laid the groundwork for today's populism MAGA movement. First with his scatching criticism of Bush the Elder's "read my lips" flub and then in calling out the up and coming Clintons followed by helping Newt Gingrich deliver the first GOP congress in over four decades with the Contract with America. Tea Party and coining the term rino dissing Romney and McCain calling out Barry Sotero and ultimately supporting his close friend Donald J Trump.
And he did so with humor that set the libtards on fire.
Classic example, the infamous Caller Abortion.
As he explained the sole purpose of a caller on a call in show was as an opportunity for the host to shine because ultimately that's why people listen. So, the calls were at his convenience and at the moment he determined the call to be inconvenient and that the call had yet to reach the point of viability he would perform the abortion. He would switch on a loud vacuum cleaner to abort the call.
Needless to say that really set off the NAGs, aka national association of gals, who would show themselves to truly be feminazis.
That led to a period of "safe radio" where "protection" would be put on the Golden EIB microphone.
His updates were grouped into categories each with its own theme song.
World Peace, Slim Whitman's La Paloma Blanca set to an artillery barrage Global Warming, Paul Shanklin Burning Ring of Fire
As you can probably tell I discovered him early on and locked my radio on that station for the next thirty years.
X2.
I miss him every day. Truly the G.O.A.T. He could talk, accurately and in-depth, and extemporaneously for hours about a variety of subjects. And he was almost always (99.7%) right.
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
Took two guys to replace him. I listen to them but not as often as I did when Rush was on. Use to irritate a few people when listening to him. When they complained I always told them "Truth hurts doesn't it"
Russ
Those two guys suck. It's the same thing every (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) day.
Russ not only figured out and told the truth ahead of news, but he had the ability to make and help people think on their own and figure out the truth. Amazing talent.
I absolutely loved when President Trump awarded El Rushbo the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Rush's surprise was genuine and his reaction emotional. It was great moment. The sour looks on the faces of Democrats in attendance was just icing on the cake.
