300WM for blue grouse?
I guess the new official name for them is either sooty or dusky grouse, depending on where they live. However I and about everyone else still just calls them blue grouse.
I'll bet the majority of them are shot with rifles regardless.

LOL. I have turned a few of their skulls with a zippity-zip just above their head. Because I don’t have a small enough caliber at hand at the time, to shoot at any other part of them.

I call them Sooty Grouse. FWIW..

My thoughts exactly. In fact you would have a slightly better margin for error with a 45/70 than a with a 300WM for head-shot on squirrels.

Waggler…. I replied with a comment that was over the top rude. I have removed it. But understand that calling people woke will elicit one of two responses. Flight or fight.

I was wrong for the words that I typed. Take it for what it is worth. I trust that you don’t honestly consider me a purple haired bunny hugging gay woke individual…

No, not a purple-haired bunny hugger.... but you are from the Juneau area right? Sort of the Eugene of Alaska.
Just kidding, all is good.

Yeah, born and raised. I have family lineage from 1880’s here. Not wizzing on anything, but yeah.

Glad you are good. Looking forward to meeting you someday. I get around the SEAK region quite a bit….

That’ll do waggler……that’ll do.
You mean you don’t carry 2 guns when your big game hunting?….lol
I’m bringing my 338wm for whitetail in a few weeks. I’ve got a bear tag, there’s a wild boar hanging around, wolves & coyotes sometimes come out, always a coon or 4 come by. I could use a few different calibers. Now where’s the guy that’ll tell me what single caliber & bullet I should use for everything and how unethical and stupid I am for using the 338 that I love?…..hahaha

I got bored waiting for a plane one time in the Alaska Range and went snowshoe hunting with my .338. Got half dozen decapitated bunnies with as many shots.

Brought a few snowshoe rabbits home for the pot while deer hunting with my 30-06 many years ago. Would already be headless for cleaning. The range was usually only 10 or 12 ft. at a sitting bunny.
