And what was expensive? Day to day occasionally there are prices on products that amaze me on how cheap they cost for what you get. And others are the opposite. For example, I recently replaced the plastic reservoir on a skid loader radiator. A simple plastic tub with a screw cap. Probably cost 10.00 to make in china, price was $200.
Flip side, it's amazing to me you can buy a center fire rifle for $300 that will outshoot a $3,000 custom gun from 1980. Although they are certainly much uglier.

Popular toys in the eighties were just as much as they are today, if not more. Pound Puppies and Pound Purries were darn near 30 bucks, for a plush toy!!! Of course Cabbage Patch Kids were expensive. Video Games have always been expensive. A new Nintendo game was at least $45 back then.

I really only grocery shop in the fall for hunting season. Grocery prices blew me away. Again.

I can't think of anything cheap these days.

Have you bought mayonnaise lately ?,..eggs ?
gas up a dollar,..rent prices? ,..react to that, what distribution does that afford you?
That distribution cuts along supply lines,..with that ,.your opinion?

Cheap is invasive, it will not be resolved,..it's promotion hinges on speculation.

Everything seems too expensive these days. But a local store often has fresh pineapples for $1.00. The other day they were 50 cents and people were buying boxes of them. Most of them i've bought were good pineapples. There is no way they are making anything selling them.

United we stand.

LOL I remember baling hay for 10 cents an hour.
Get in 3-4 hours and hit the local store for a pop and a pie for 20 cents plus the 2 cents deposit , which we turned in as soon as we were ready to go have some fun swimming.
16 OZ bottle too.

Now it's cheaper to make maple syrup than buy a pop it seems.
In three years pop went from $ 11.00 for 3 12 packs on sale to $12.00 for two on sale.

Dealing with lawyers. They are good at wealth transfers but not so good at winning or doing anything much at all.

Used vehicles it wasn't anything to buy a 4x4 pickup truck on the side of the road and run it for a year or 2. Now days those $800 beaters are $2500
