How many of you are doing more hunting than trapping now a days? Trapping is more in my blood so I am saving this old body just to set trips.

I am spending more time trapping these days. I enjoy it much more than hunting.

I do both. Hunting season is longer than trapping season, but I trap almost every day of the trapping season and don’t hunt every day of the hunting season. Then there is always fishing season to talk about also!

I just buy the license and to do stuff whenever I’m able.

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!

Trapping but only because once I start I have traps out for three-plus months each season. That's 90-110 days. I wish I had time to hunt that often but I don't. I usually hunt 50-60 days a year.

Eh...wot?

When I am trapping I am also hunting.

To me, trapping is just a different type of hunting. I seem to do more trapping these days than I do hunting, even though I enjoy both.

I hunt for meat and really don't look forward to hunting.
Try and hunt when trapping so I killing two birds with one stone.
I'm not saying I don't enjoy hunting. I just don't get exited about it.
I've lived the better part of my life trapping and I still look forward to it every year. I've probably eaten more critters than I've trapped than big game I suppose. When I was yung I enjoyed duck and pheasant hunting. And archery dear. From about 1980 on I got serious about trapping and lost interest in hunting. I've got 7 days to fill my 2 dear tags and I haven't hunted yet. I'd rather work hear on the farm and prepare for trapping.
Fortunately I can harvest the dear within obout 2 miles of the house.

If I had to choose it would be trapping. I don’t have much experience in either but the second I set a trap in the dirt/water I was hooked.

Only took a handful of squirrel and four deer in my life and nothing compares to the beaver, muskrat, mink, raccoon, opossum, skunk and finally fox

Hunting today our trapping is only to remove varmits. No traps out yet but the last 2 nights my 14 year old took out a possum with one of the 20g 870s by a door. Didn't change out the turkey choke either.

Both, time only allows for one at a time, thought I'd have more time when retired, seems less.

I still just pretty much trap. An occasional pheasant hunt or I may tag along with my boys on a deer hunt. They are more into hunting than trapping.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
