Always make a wingbone call out of a kids first gobbler for them. Name and date painted on the call.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Several smaller things. I inherited a side by side 20 guage Belguim made dbl barrel that shoots 2and 5/8 inch shells. I gave that to our daughter-in-law and two cases of shells.
I have my Savage model 99F that our son will get.
He will also get the Remington single shot rifle my father in-law got when he was 16 in 1937
I will also give him the walrus handle Norwegian Knife I got in 1964 as a gift from Norwegian friends for Chrismas when the traveled in Norway.
There are other items that have less personal value to me and will probably find new homes.

Nice traditions.

I got my son a knife model that was not sold here - only in Germany. A Puma Jagdmesser and had his name engraved on the main blade.

When I ran my ADC business bats was a large part of my business.
Often I’d get calls from people with a bat in the house. Almost always they shut the door to the room the bat was in. After daylight the bat would be somewhere in that room. First place was to look up high against the ceiling especially in the corners. Next was around windows. Behind curtains or blinds.
If not in those places it got much harder. More clutter in the room the harder it was. Bats often fly until exhausted hit something and fall.
Found them in clothing, trashcans, inside lamp shades, yes and shoes twice.
You had to go slow and be methodical.
Most I found in less than 45 mins. A couple of cluttered rooms took 2 hours or so.
The absolute worse was when people freaked out and left. Then you searched the whole darn house!!
I did more of those searches than I can count.

I've bought all the kids, grandkids and greatgrandkids. A BB gun, knife, fishing poles and traps. I've taken all of them and showed them how to use them and do it safely. Most of them have thoroughly enjoyed shooting the BB guns the most.

Both my daughters and 3 of 4 grandkids had as their first solid food a tiny piece of either venison or antelope. Someone gave the 4th grandchild a french fry before I got to her.

I took the boys out when they turn 10, and do a "coming of age" type ceremony with them, and talked about some man-stuff, and did some rock-climbing that terrified them (but was symbolic of growing up and conquering childish ways). Afterwards they come home and get baptized at chruch and get a special axe that hangs on their wall. Wifey does a similar trip with the girls. The kids each get a .22 rifle when they turn 13 as well.

I got all the kids knives when they turned 8 , pocket knives and taught them how to use them

I got my first knife at 8 , I still have it , a Camillus cub scout knife my dad gave me.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

My dad made this knife for me when I was two in 85. It might be my most important possession. Going to do the same for my two boys. Just had these forged by a buddy in Cody and engraved by my uncle. He engraved mine back then too. Dad also couldn’t help himself and made one for my wife. The tradition lives on
