Mediterranean diet is really time consuming. But probably the best diet out there.
Up in Michigan there is some speculation that there is very little selenium in the soil. I would consider incorporating some selenium rich foods.
What about your food choices do you struggle with ? Preparation? Are you less likely to eat something if you don't "love it"? Kind way of asking if you're a picky eater. Lol
You might do a breakdown of where your energy is coming from. You may need more proteins. Are you a social drinker or stress? You don't have to answer something so personal, but they have really great supplements to alleviate stress.
I personally gravitate to health food because my mother was very health conscious. I eat too much, though. So I found intermittent fasting was most helpful for me. Research "autophagy". A Japanese scientist won the Nobel prize for discovering its benefits.

Don’t drink myself but drop the sweets, sugar, ice cream, pop and salt. Trim the fat off of the meats you eat. It’s tough listening to a lot of advice because you will have no options with the opinions you will get if combined.
Go to YouTube find a Dr on there that you think has good advice to give. No clear diet advice that I could find but people have different dos and don't so that’s a build your own plan kind of thing.

Of course, the others can give good advice on the reason they choose low carb. I am not one of them. Though I eat plenty of low carb meals

The ladies in my life (wife and six daughters) would be happy to eat raw veggies and fruit for a meal. Stress drinker but that is mental and I have and will overcome. Brother fasts often and has shared the same info.. Thank you for your reply.

I will say this 100 times over, we're made different and men don't have the same needs we do. I thrive on high fiber, and fresh produce. GL figuring out what works for you. Little knowledge: it is thought that alcohol and sugar can create low T. Stress, poor sleeping and energy are all effected by low T. You probably don't have that problem, Sir. But I think all men who feel they drink too much could benefit from this knowledge

Do not eat sweets. Salt could be better but not awful. Drinking and not enough veggies worse problem I have. If I crave sugar I go through the check out line at the store buy it and give it to the person running the check out. No joke lol!

There's plenty of low carb style information on the internet.
Do a search for low carb Dr podcasts.
Just try to eliminate sugar (which also is carbohydrate foods, i.e. potatoes, bread, pasta, etc.) Prioritize protein over fat intake, but you will need some fat.
Avoid seed oils, corn, canola, sunflower, etc.

First thing to go is soda and other sugar laden drinks, that's your starting point, other stuff, like simple carbs , ie bread, pasta, baked goods, can be eliminated or cut back on as you see fit.... That's the hardest part.... right there.
Just give me one thing, that I can hold on to. To believe in this livin' is just a hard way to go.

On the road is even harder to find unprocessed foods. I just go for a double burger no sides and a no sugar no aspartame type of drink, or real chicken pieces if a guy can find it.

That's the hardest part.... right there. This stuff ain’t bad some of it’s very good just tried the creamy root beer it’s good no aftertaste, no sugars, no food coloring and no aspartame. It’s sweet so it’s best over a tall glass of ice. Body Armor zero drinks are now sweetened with Stevia also.

There are some researchers who think there is a close relationship between carb addiction and alcohol addiction.
If you switch to a no/low carb diet, you will notice a nearly irresistible urge in the evening to drive to the grocery store for a nice, sticky, jelly donut, or something similar; I know I did, at least at the earlier stage of the diet.
The nearly no carb diet is well worth the effort, with many health benefits. The no nearly no alcohol diet will have health benefits, and most likely relationship benefits as well.
Good luck.

It’s tough to find a drink that’s not harmful in one way or another let alone one that tastes good enough to drink steady. Some are nasty some you get accustomed to but some are good. Try the Zevia on ice the Black Cherry, Root Beer, Lemon Lime and Cola are not bad.

I drink unflavored or flavored seltzer because I like the bubbles, lol, I don't miss the sugar, or sweetness, once you get to liking seltzer you don't want anything else, that and black coffee.... and water with a splash of apple cider vinegar sometimes....
It takes about 2 weeks to lose the urge of simple carbs, not that you can't have any, but cutting back keeps you from feeling your missing something and gorging on it...but everyone is different, you just need to find a path that works for you and still attain your goals....
