I like Ol'dads answer. Widgeon are beautiful ducks and decoy well...
but those greenheads that drop through the oaks taste pretty good too.

I've shot a lot of black ducks, never saw rice breast, only time I did was a hen pintail....

I've never shot one with it but it does exist in mallards in the Pacific flyway.

In my house....it would be in the garbage can.

I shot a spoonbill, out in north Dakota a few years back that had a green head that was incredibly beautiful, any idea what kind it was ??

The best eating duck there is would be a Black Belly or Fulvous whistling duck, those are at the top of my list. Some of the most frustrating to hunt too, so when it comes together it is rewarding. Second would probably be an acorn fed wood duck, because that's what I grew up on. Third would be a drake pintail, not for the wall, but for the coals, just like this
