The deer hunting leases around here welcome trapping after deer season. I have full permission to trap after deer season. No joining the clubs

Your supposed to be getting the hunt clubs to pay you, not pay to join the club

I have found it to be pretty easy to get trapping permission on hunting clubs. I just wish they would pay me to trap.

I’m part of a group that leases a 3,700 acre timber company holding. The lease is for hunting and we have to kill a certain number of deer each year to keep the owners happy.

I’m one of only two members that trap on it.

Hunting for one still. Seems every time j have the money no one has anything worth anything and when I'm busy doing. Home improvement stuff for the hand full of critters I actually catch...meh... Need one for farm work and equipment hauling more then anything right now

Funny thing is I never got stuck in my 2wd or car like I did when I was in the 4x4 I used to have. Really made you pick you battles , that 4x4 tends to give a bit of over confidence at times

I'll tell ya what's nuts though , I cannot find a shop that's willing to work over a truck for me. Just wanna buy some lil rust bucket drag it to a good shop give them $5-8000 and come get it later. I just do not like doin mechanic work

As far as trapping before deer season ends....

even if you joined the club....

Last week, I was talking to Frank Iley, an 83 years old trapper from Ohio, many of the guys here know. He told me that he traps down in your neck of the woods on some of the big quail preserves, mostly for bobcat. They put him up in a cabin, lend him an ATV, feed him and pay him to nuisance trap. He is heading back to Mississippi soon.

Some of the hunt clubs and preserves would likely do the same for you.

He texted me a bunch of pictures of his catches. He had blankets made for his granddaughters. Here's one of them.
