What does your state deem a lethal set? And how often are you required to check "lethal" sets?

Foothold traps on drowners, Body grippers, Snares with entanglement, snares with dispatch style locks and springs, etc. In SD, everything that isn't under water is lumped into one category. You have to check your fence snares for coyotes just as often as you have to check your dog proofs for raccoons. Every 48 hours East of the Missouri River and 72 hours west of it. Just curious what other states or provinces have in their rule books.

Thanks

24 hr checks on everything not set completely under water and designed to drown your catch. No check times on sets completely underwater and designed to drown. DP's on drowners are 24 hr check since they are not completely under water when set, same for any conibears or snares set with any part of them above water.

Lethal here by definition are only 2 types of sets. All body grip traps, and all drowning sets. All lethal sets have a 72-hour check. All other sets have a 36-hour check time.

72 hrs on lethal traps (Koro Rat traps and swim thrus) and animal must be either released or dispatched within 24 hrs of capture on live traps here in WA. No body grips, footholds, snares, cable restraints legal

Same here.

Stop over cooking your meat! It isn’t gamey, it’s over cooked!
