I’d strongly advise against it unless you live alone. Having been here before, it’s not the dye that’s the problem. It’s little bits of wax that takes me several days to scrape up. Yes, I give em a healthy jiggle when I pull em out. [Linked Image]

Been there done that many years ago before I was married. Yeah! if you have a wife that usually doesn't go over well.
One thing I did use on my conibears that I could get away with in lots settings. Formula 1. Still gotta be careful not to splash it around. But pretty much no oder that hangs.

I wouldn’t do that, even if I did live alone!

Some trap treatment materials are actually toxic - or maybe caustic is a better word. Logwood and lye come to mind. Keep that stuff outdoors if you value healthy lungs!

Wish I had known this as I actually like the smell of logwood dye crystals boiling. Never used lye.

Dude. I can trash a kitchen cooking but I never would have thought of doing this.

Good luck with the clean up!

Oh man, that cleanup is not worth it. Acetone/paint so much easier, but I don't do that in the house either.

Supposed to rain this weekend. I need to get my wife to go to her sisters.

The only thing that I can add, should’ve used her crockpot and or a double boiler for the wax.

Hey - be careful doing that. I have a buddy who had wax on his stove and he went outside and forgot it. When he remembered and went to go back into the house the wax exploded wen he opened the door and caught fire to the house. It was in his basement and it burned up through the floor in minutes before the fire dept could get there.

Just passin through

Sink is done. Had to take a break from cleaning the stove top when I realized I had a tube of biscuits in the fridge.
