I've watched a few "how to" coyote skinning videos, and on more than one of them, after skinning the rest of the animal, they just cut off the lower lip, saying "it's not necessary" for the fur market.

I'm just curious, does it really save that much time to cut off the lower lip? It seems like if you've already skinned the rest of the animal, it wouldn't take that much more effort to finish skinning the lower lip. Is there more to it that I don't understand?

It's not so much a time saver as it is something that has no use/market value so why bother with it? The only reason to save it would be for taxidermy or personal preferance.

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

It gets in the way of the scan ticket stapler.
