I'm hearing there going to be a good acorn crop in my area. Mostly red oak.
Great for wildlife.

What are you hearing/seeing for mast crop production in your zone ?

Boatload of red oak acorns in northern counties.

Good red oak crop in southern and hickory seemed to have a good year too. Haven’t seen much for beech nuts this year because they had a bumper last year.

Have four huge Oaks in my yard, not an acorn to be seen. None of my neighbors have acorns either. The Gypsy moths stripped every tree in my area for miles. The leaves managed to grow back after the caterpillars turned to moths but not enough time for any acorns.

Most have been consumed here. Bears love em and run the deer off.

The vast majority should have dropped by this point. This year was the heaviest I can recall. It rained acorns for over a month here and finally slowed up a week or two ago.

Almost zero here and I live in an ocean of oak forest. We had a freeze in early April, which happens every other year or so, and the walnuts don't produce but this year the oaks didn't fare well either.

Sad part is the wild pigeons won't come or stay around but will head west to the corn before flying to Spain amd Portugal. The wild boar around us will hit the pastures harder with nothing to eat in the forest.

We had a great acorn crop....live oak, red oak, and water oak.

But, the hurricane put em all on the ground overnight. Now, it's feast, but by December it's gonna be famine.
