Saw my first mountain lion ever tonight. Crossed the road right in front of me about 5 miles west of Cimarron, NM. I was doing 25 MPH because of snow so I got a good look.

It was big. I can see how they'll take a jogger down.

Saw my first one in the Badlands of ND, off Interstate 94,saw a mother and two kittens while Mule deer hunting about 20 miles NE of Coal strip MT.

Bet that was exciting! I know there are some in our area but not many. Oddly enough, a fellow who stocks pheasants on a small lot of public land showed me one on his game cam about ten years ago. And this was practically right on the outskirts of the city.

I feel fortunate to have seen 8 cougars during my lifetime while out in the woods. I know of guys who have spent their entire lives in cougar country and never seen one.

That is always exciting to see them in the wild. I have also had on two different occasions and yes, they are big.

Never seen one myself. I would love to see one in the wild

We are not in mt lion country here in the ozarks but half the people you talk to see them regularly and most of the ones seen are black

I always add that Ive trapped a long time an have never seen a track or a big cat in this state. does a rouge cat pass thru KS once In awhile? no doubt but the odds of seeing one are about like winning the lottery. seen plenty of tracks in nm and co

Good for you but wait till you see three in your yard! I would like to know how many I have walked by and not seen them!

I was fortunate enough to see 3. 2 were behind hounds in Utah, and one crossed the road in front of us in northern Wisconsin.

Farmer got a good video of one last year alongside road crossing - was in Kansas and very clear video footage - believe it was in SE part of state

Released a couple from bobcat traps. Quite the rodeo. Just need a catch pole and a brave trapping buddy. If we catch them now we can keep them.

I've had to release quite a few over the years too. It is less fun the older I get. There is no room for half measures when you use a catch pole on one to get the the trap off. They are extremely fast and powerful. And after we have gotten the trap off and released them they have never run off. They just stand their ground and you have to back away from them. And I'm glad we have the option to harvest one now.

We had a season(Quota), a few years and I caught a few, they really tripped my trigger. I would stay in an area just for the chance to catch one, My dog treed two since I've been here, to me the cats define the West!
