Any solid word on Marten prices this year ? thinking about getting out this winter if we ever get any they will be getting good here in a couple weeks. What were prices last year and did you sell local or ship to Canada, never seems like there is a market local even during the high years shipped to Colorado for the auction and got very disappointing returns in comparison with NAFA, so with NAFA gone looking at Fur Harvester's.

We usually get $60-$70 for them, but we grow them big and they're always wearing their best winter attire lol

Last auction the big ones avged over 100cd and overall avg all in was 80 after deductions for my section.
Price has been climbing slow and steady since Nafa folded.

Boco how would prime Western Marten compare price wise We get Dark and Im sure not quite as heavy but good Marten.

I think the size difference would be the biggest factor. Your marten are about 25% smaller than ours. Probably the same situation with Boco's marten

Im guessing not as heavy either and maybe not as dark ours are the color of a Hersey bar I dont see a lot of difference in fur quality after Nov 15. I have access to a lot of them and last time picked up close to 70 in 3 checks then pulled traps.

I see a lot of color variation here. From quite pale to very dark. Just a matter of genetics I believe......... rather than geography. Gulo could add some valuable info on this if he sees it

As we age price matters less

Wyoming marten are Martes caurina, whereas Boco's are Martes Americana. The Americana always sell for at least a third more, often 50% more.

Danvee, Marten averaged 55 and some change at the state sale in Riverton last February.
