All of the coyote sets I currently have out are duke #3s and bridger #2s but I have half a dozen bridger 1.65s sitting in a bucket and more land/time for more sets, would you use em if you had them? Don't want to spend the time if they're just not going to hold on to coyotes.

Thanks!

The rifle has no will of its own it may be used for evil but there are more good men than evil men and evil will be corrected by good men with rifles.

Caught coyotes in them....good little trap. Copy of the old NWs round jaw #1 1/2 coil ....except better.

I don't agree with this youngster. They are just fine for coyotes. They are IMO the best trap by design of all of the bridger designs. They will hold whatever they get a hold of.

They have a 3/8 larger inside jaw spread than the MTP 550. I say go for it if that what u have left to set.

Wish they had Duke 1.5 springs in them, or 1.5 Montana/Montgomery RJ's...

I've used them for many years. They are not a copy of the NW 1 1/2, 1.65's have a 5 1/8" inside jaw spread. A bit larger than most #3 longsprings that have caught a fair number of coyotes over the years.

Make sure your springs are stout (I used #2 springs on mine) and they will be just fine

X2. The bridger 1.65 is actually larger than most 1.75s which has caught and held many a yote.

I have most likely caught more coyotes in modified 1.65's than all of my traps combined. And I had a TON of traps and caught plenty of yotes.

PM Savelll if you want confirmation on this

Most of yall would be impressed with the number of coyotes caught in 1.5 coilspring. Add in 1.65s and 1.75s and the numbers are mind-boggling.

Depending on what part of Wyoming you are from, What other animals might you possibly encounter in your traps? If you are trapping outside of the wolf management area, and you have any wolves I would take that into consideration. Bobcats? You definitely want to hold on to those. Sure they will hold coyotes and if it all you have ,use them. I will say they are definitely not my first choice.

I run 1.75’s primarily. I bought a dozen 1.65’s years ago and have had no issues with them. Will always prefer Wolfers but not worried about 1.65’s holding them in a 24 hr check.

When we had a high theft rate here I went to Duke 1.5's ,I caught 65 coyotes that season and had 2 jaw pullouts and no theft of traps .

Thanks for all the insight, in the eastern edge of the Bighorn Basin, so coyotes and Bobcats, not many wolves have come down from the bighorns but have heard of one or two running the desert.
