So has anyone used the c120 reverse bend for marten? I'm seeing they are not on the approved lists for places that have them. Got a couple dozen of them but I dont want to waste the time and effort on an inferior trap for the job. Any opinions on them for marten are appreciated.

I have some sauvageau c 120 mags with the strike bar.I use them for skunks.they are a one way trap.
They like the 2001-5 are overkill for marten and both of those traps ruin the weasels,which are a valuable catch in marten traps.
I am not familiar with sauvageau reverse bend traps.
Do you have a pic of one?
The two best marten traps on the market are the LDL b 120 magnum and the belisle 120 magnum.
I use both but most marten trappers here prefer the ldl since neither the trigger nor the dog contacts the fur on a strike.

Wouldnt have any use for them if not certified for marten.

understood if you're required to have a certified trap where you live, if you are not does the certification mean anything? I would assume plenty of Marten have fallen to 120 duke or victor traps, would have to think the sauvageau is a step up from those. Dont like learning the hard way that something is inadequate tho...

I just checked the AIHTS list,the sauvageau c 120 magnum is certified.It doesnt differentiate between the one with the strike bar from the one with the bent jaw.
A marten that is alive for extended time in a bodygrip will have damage.
I would never go back to the older traps for marten.
Those traps you have should be good.
