I thought i could weld a disc blade shut and weld a nut to slide over a metal electric fence post and use them as fire skillets. Can have three or four of them at diff heights and they come apart lay flat and store nicely. Change the angle of the dangle on the fence post and lots of adjustment.

so when it gets hot and expands a little does your food drop onto the fire? Neat idea but has me wondering also it it will fall when trying to flip or stir what's cooking with the added movement? Have you tested it out yet?

Great idea but I would shoot for a tripod. Drill three holes in the edge, Weld a nut on top of three legs that will slip into the three holes. Assemble with nuts on top for use, and disassemble for storage.

Now they are every where. I put a closer on one of my boats 20 years ago so I didn't have to get down on my knees under motor to put in plug.

Patents are good in theory. My buddy spent $7500 to get a patent and on every conceivable way that we thought it could be made. All went well for a few years then they started showing up. The patent was the cheap part, retrieving any compensation was harder and proving damages was hard. Can't count every piece in underground mine. Basically Obama put the kibosh on the coal industry anyway and most of what was left was longwall which was not worried as much about roof support.

I was thinking just another rod in the opposite side like he has would keep it from spinning and less likely to drop. but it looks like it works as is. Cool idea for sure.

A lot of Hispanic people use disc blades for Paella pans. I've had several Hispanics ask me where they could get old discs, especially the gigantic ones. I don't know how they keep them above the fire, but your idea seems like a decent one for lighter weights. I would think a single support would shift in the ground, if holding a lot of weight.

I just checked, they sell disc blades for big money online, just for cooking paella on. Most are $130.00 to $200.00 each.

I wish I had a bunch of disc blades to sell at the Hispanic flea markets.

Yeah i figure this is handy for campground camping to store in the camper. I have a big bean pot to just set in the fire or just plain dutch ovens for like your talking. This is more quick lunch with out burning down coals I think.

Patent's are a cost for things that are extremely difficult to copy, not for things that are made easily and in short amounts.

You are responsible for showing intrusion and copying on your patent as well, you have to prove how it is invading your patent ! This can cost three times the amount of a patent as well depending on if the other wishes to challenge, as well as years to settle !

It is simply amazing how many patents there are for little things and or big things that are on the listings, it really shows the work people go thru to have protection and how many similar patents are in process and or have been given.

However just because one has a patent does not mean another copy of said patent cannot be done, it only takes 4 different changes to submit a patent on a similar idea, some times it is a great let down to see how many others are trying to do the same idea as one is trying to patent as the first.

I know as I spent quite abit of funding to protect my Squeaker units, and still have people trying to copy my original idea by going around the rules for separation, it is really frustrating to see others using your idea for their benefit, and when advised of this, they just tell you great idea, you should be honored due to flattery of them doing such !!
