I’m getting into fox snaring. It’s easier on my hands than setting traps. I’m looking for a video on this subject . Any recommendations?

So far, I’ve snared a pile or coon and beaver. It’s hard to miss their trails so setting them up is easy. But fox trails and crawl-unders don’t come so easy. It would be nice to review a video or two.

You dont need trails to snare foxes, although you can snare them on man made trails.
If you have fox just set a few snares in some thicker brush and bait them in with a good sized bait either buried with a scent hole or covered with debris.
Easy as snaring rabbits.

Fox run the same trails the bunnies, coon and deer do. If you got bigger creeks, that trail that parallels the creek on top of the bank catches everything so if you want to use snares instead of footholds, set multiple snares at various heights along the trail. Hard to set just one size/height loop and catch em all unless you got natural spots to make em duck into a snare. Set your big animal(bobcat/coyote) on the outsides of the trail and set your smaller animal snares(fox/coon) on the inside

I found a couple faint trails under an old fence and set them up a couple feet out from the fence. The first one caught a huge possum. The second has produced 3 reds. I’m using a short snare in either 5/64 1x19 or 5/64 7x7. The loop is ~6.5 inches and 6-7 inches off the ground. I just need another 100 locations and I’ll be in business.

Got #4 yesterday. It helps that our fox population has rebounded a bit. All have been snared. I’m lovin’ this!
