Since Hurricane Helene, Asheville and many in Western NC have been on a boil water mandate. Some communities have muni water now, but not me.

No we haven't had it tested. It's pristine mountain spring water with no mines or oil wells or other sources of contamination anywhere near it. Tests for well water in the nearest town show no problems with arsenic, lead, cadmium. It comes straight out of the mountain flowing rapidly downhill over rocks. I'm not worried about it n the least. It's crystal clear and tastes wonderful.

United we stand.

Sounds like it's very good water, but I'd still be curious and want to have it tested, just to see how great it really is. I'm betting the testing places don't see that kind great water often.

City water come here from a river over a hundred miles away. In the summer it is not cold. Not even close.
It also instantly kills fish due to the substitution of chloramine instead of chlorine. Chloramine cannot be easily removed from water as chlorine can.
At least I don't have to worry about fish growing inside of me...

My understanding is water softners are not the solution to iron or smell/taste

My well is 35 ft deep
I installed a media filter using the data provided by the county health department....for the media type required.
It backflushes once a day

I partnered with a guy to try to farm raise sturgeon in the Colombia water basin irrigation district
We started with tilapia to see if it would work.

Every so often, without warning, the feds would dump chemicals into the water.
No warning because the farmers needed the workers in the field.
