2 hours from now season starts....Shoot true, heading to the stand at 6:10 rough 400 yard walk from the house.Be safe and hope Nephew gets a shot behind the house,we have a buck cruising between 3 different properties covering about a mile.He was at the house here two evenings ago,my nephews biggest buck is 118" 8 pt,this 10 pt should go 133" to 136",hope he can get him.

Morning Rick and others. My stand is also behind my house a few hundred yards making it an easy walk. Awful quiet here in the woods this morning. Been entertained by a couple of fat fox squirrels and a chickadee. Few shots in the distance bit that can change real quick! Good luck everyone!

Seen 3 last evening but too dark to take a shot. In my stand now watching a small 6 pointer meaner around. Otherwise just crows and red squirrels here so far. Neighbor shot this dandy yesterday morning. Said the coyotes must have found the guy pile last night as they where raising all sorts of ruckus last night.

Yep,that's a monster, yesterday was a learning experience, shot a heavy shorter tined wide 10 pointer, bang laying there dead for ten minutes, got down because I still had a 250 mile loop for work, normally I'll sit 15 to 20 minutes before I get down.Short version when I climb down I couldn't see him because of the contour, got to the deer he's gone.Must have grazed his back ,knocked him out.Told my nephew he needed to hunt last evening as I wouldn't be home before dark,I'm sure he'll be chasing does,he got a glimpse of him last evening.I was able to hunt this morning saw 1 doe and 3 bucks, the second buck of the morning was hot on the trail came across shooting lane quick, got a real quick shot off,I was pretty sure it was the buck from yesterday, the quick profile looked right.Seen it do a big mule kick so I was sure the quick shot had hit it's mark,20 minutes later I went to the spot about 150 yards good blood trail at the end was this buck, not the one from yesterday.I was a little bummed when it wasn't.Would have been really cool to shoot the same buck in a 24 hour period. Now my nephew will have a good chance at him or the tall 10 pointer.I cant post pictures so 20 scout might post a picture of the wrong buck for me.Have a great evening everyone.

Slow thread, must not be much deer movement or not as many hunting. Now i'll try to shoot a doe next week,in my 4 outings I've seen 5 bucks and 2 does so far.We haven't laid eyes on the tall ten yet.

Perfect shot Rick.

Overall, deer movement here is really slow.
So very few out hunting. It's as though there isn't a deer season anymore.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

I tagged out this morning. Took a young buck Saturday evening and still had a bonus tag so was looking for a doe. Got out late this morning and in the rush forgot my coffee on the counter. Ten minutes after getting to my stand a nice doe showed up and milled around until legal shooting hours (10 minutes). 30 yard shot and she dropped where she stood. Got home and my coffee was still hot! My stand is ten minute walk from the house.
