Thank you all! It all happened so fast and I knew the shot was dead on. Didn’t feel sick or antsy. It was just very natural. Chuckie said the deer ran out his way and then stopped and started wheezing and laid down and died.
We already got it skinned and quartered and on ice and I’ll separate into roasts and other cuts on Saturday! I would take for processing if it were an older buck but these young ones are so tasty and don’t need to be made into baloney or any other such nonsense! First learned to process in my twenties on my first deer, from an old PA game news magazine. This archery episode is just another milestone for me and I hope there are many many more! I’m happy that I can share this with all of you and thank you kindly for the support!

Smasho. Tell me about icing animals.
I ask because I have never had that as a consideration, with care of game meat.

When it's warm out and you don't have a walk in cooler they get skinned and brok down small enough to be put in a cooler. At least thats how we do it and we finish packaging them over the nest few days or whenever we get time. I'm just guessing but that's probably how and why she dose it as well.

congratulations smash
Like already stated and I will 2nd I remember my first bow kill like it was yesterday not the 34 years ago that it was. There are many I don't remember at all but that first one my first deer at 14 I sure remember. I'm glad to hear of your success.

I appreciate the breakdown. I obviously handle game differently.

Trying to cut a bit of learning curve out.

Like!!

Good job Ashley.

How'd ya get her?

Do you run cameras?

Shoot it over a feeder, food plot, pumpkin patch?

From your pics it looks like you did it old school... found a deer trail and sat on it until one walked by.
