Let's compare the teams that are in. Greeney from espn words. "Indiana doesn't deserve to be ahead of GA. Zero wins against ranked team.
Penn ST 100 something strength of schedule .Zero wins against ranked team."

The playoff going to 12 teams and conference realignment in the same year has created a new issue. Indiana has not played any of the other ranked teams from the big 10
Boise ST is in because of being their conference champ.(as of today) Lot of football left of course. Some of these questions will be sorted out in up coming weeks.

If Georgia hadn't lost they would be in, simple - win your games.
Don't like Boise State but they deserve to be in if they run the table rest of the year.

Not to worry jbyrd, the season is far from being over, if Georgia wins out and doesn't make the playoffs you might have a beef.

We're never going to have a perfect system. Nature of the sport doesnt really allow for a perfect system. Win and your in should always be the way in to getting to the championship. Maybe a dynamic scheduling system might help eliminate some of the overly tough or cup cake schedule complaint during the season.

Not a beef. Honestly GA has looked like garbage in 3 games. BAMA loss they woke up second half. Ky win was pathetic. The o line is bad for GA. I see the point of the Committee to some degree. GREAT wins . But dreadful losses.

Oh they will be by format . Conference champ is automatic entry in power 5.

Like always, the ranking are tainted by recency bias. Georgia has plenty of time to work their way back in. But they not only need to win, they need to look like they belong. Last week, they did not. That hurt them as much or more than just losing.

What could get weird is if by some stroke of luck ISU wins the big 12 championship then you have BYU and Colorado also that should be in, it really becomes a mess.

Calling penalties is very subjective so I don't see why we are so surprised that the selection of the 12 to play for a national championship would not be similar. Every one of us have an opinion, it just matters alot whose opinions are valued more or have the most impact.

Way to get in is to only schedule the mercer's of the world, play a soft schedule, look like national champs and hiesman winner's all across the field and presto your in and probably at the #1 spot!

So that's pretty much what you will see moving forward, no more scheduling tough opponents. Plus the loser of the SEC Championship game probably won't get in either but would have had they not played that extra game! So probably best not to get in it anymore either. What a screwed up mess. With that said don't worry about Ga. after they lose to Tn. this weekend no one will think they should be in anymore including them.
