Anyone use artificial baits on the trigger of 110 body traps underwater for mink? Like a minnow or crayfish? I have heard that it works under the ice.

I've always been curious. I either blind set their trails along a creek, setup boxes like a marten box but on the ground, or catch them in muskrat sets lol

I used it as a baited bottom set, I like artificial fish, small in size. I liked a single spring 160 better than a 110, but I had good success with both. Most of my sets using the artificial bait were under bridges in deep water. I got the idea from Don Powell.

I've used quite a few the last 5 years. These are the only two that have caught mink on 110 triggers. I've also used both of these on victor 1 1/2 coils that are nightlached and score mink and coon
I usually set these up as a bottom edge style set.
