I picked some freshwater clams outta the creek. Opened one up and I'm not putting anything there in my mouth. Saltwater clams must be different.

AS long as it's a milk or cream base , tomato base clam chowder is just vegetable soup...

trappers eat as good and better than most people in the world will be the last ones to go hungry sja really looks good but i would rather have jalapeno than belle pepers but thats just me a little spice

Growing up in MO, my mother used to make a creamy potato soup. New England clam chowder is almost identical, except potatoes chopped up smaller and it has clams in it.
