I'll personally go through 10 > 15 bushels from late Nov > Feb. Fix them every way imaginable and then freeze some for frying during summer :-))))

Both are great. Made Noah Ark clam chowder last night. Noah Ark was a cool restaurant back in the 70 s in St Charles Missouri been tore down for progress. I would love to have that recipe if you would share.

If there is a crustacean or shell fish I won't like I haven't found it yet and these cooler evenings are making soups, stews, and chowders sound great!

Love both but clams aren't readily available here so no recipe . Oyster stew is a gulf coast thing here as anyone who knows oysters knows the fresher the better. A really simple stew where subtlety is the key for amazing flavor. Saute finely diced shallots or mild onions in a little bit of butter, maybe a small bit of flour browned lightly if you want it thicker, add oysters and a bit of liquor just until they barely start to curl on the edge then your sweet milk or cream heated to a simmer.

As long as the seafood isn’t over cooked I love both, heard that Fareway had oysters for 30 dollars a pound, if that’s true I think I can buy fresh hand shucked ones cheaper. Having grown up within reach of the Gulf I wholeheartedly agree. Overcooking seafood should be a crime.

I like both New England and Manhattan Clam Chowder and Oyster Stew. At least I always heard it called Stew and not soup, is there a difference?
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.
