In a city of millions , there are only 5,000 - 10,000 people who have a NYC carry permit. Almost impossable to get one.


New York State permit can be difficult to get but mostly doable. NYS permit does not allow you to carry in NYC.

In Trump's case the jury found him guilty but the judge delayed sentencing pending appeal. He was due to be sentenced last week but that was put on indefinite hold due to the election.

So anyone saying convicted felon is incorrect, more correctly he was found guilty of felony charges by a jury.

The judge still has the final say on whether he is sentenced or he could even toss out the jury verdict.

So unless NY law says persons under indictment, charged but not convicted, must surrender the permit or the trial judge has imposed restrictions his permit is possibly still good. Though most jurisdictions restrict persons under indictment from possessing firearms.

But the Bruen ruling might suggest that even those restrictions are unconstitutional.
