Don't roast the welds to hard, I used old flux core wire and my ground clamp was bad I replaced both and I'm welding better lol. Relearning puddle control was a bit rough to.

So what do you with the tag end of your retriever cable?

It's about 3 inches shorter than the chain. It gets pounded all the way under and if it pulls up a little when setting the anchor just tuck it down in.

I forgot to add the chain is just brass finished, it's normal #2 machine chain. I got a whole reel for $3 at an estate sale
