You guessed it ... when I said best movie ever. Jeremiah Johnson is on Direct TV Channel 606 !! Back to Back showings tonite !!! A great way to cap of a great day !

It rocks! My fav part is when the ol mountain man says “hungry ?!? Come on!!!!” And leads Jeremiah to his cabin!

Never seen it, will have to check it out.

It's a great movie.
Liked it a lot, but can only watch it every so often any more.

Centennial was another great movie, most of the great actors of the time were in it.
But only until it went into the modern years on the ranch and city living.

A visitor came into my Sunday school class. I introduced myself and he did the same. His name was Jeremiah Johnson. I said jokingly thats the best movie ever made and he looked at me and had no idea what I was talking about. I didn’t explain it from there as it would not have mattered.

Great movie

Both great movies. I always laugh when Brian Keith makes that comment about needing whiskey.
Two great actors, Heston and Keith.

That movie (The Mountain Men) is a trip down memory lane for NewHouse and me. We saw it together at a cinema in Eugene on a double date shortly before Chuck headed off to spend a winter alone trapping on the Goodnews river in Alaska and me going into the Peace Corps and spending the next two years in the Amazon jungle.

We were both watching the movie out of the corner of our eyes while swappin' spit with the young ladies! LOL

Can you skin Grizz?

Actually the line "can you skin grizz" always rankled me. Bears were never a big part of mountain men's pursuits. First it was beaver and in later years buffalo. Their main thing about "grizz" was trying not to get killed by them.

Of all the reading I have done, sure haven't read many cases of them actually skinning any of the bears they shot. Or even taking the claws, etc.

I wonder if the writers meant "skin" as mountain lingo for "kill".

As entertainment I love the movie. But I have to turn off my history nerd.
