Anyone ever see orbs? Some call them spirit guides. Just orbs of light of various sizes and brightness.

Buddy of mine has some river bottom land. He and his wife and others near the river have seen them. The orbs are usually over the water but they have gone over corn and bean fields, too. On one occasion the orb (one) hovered over his back deck for almost a full minute.

Some people have seen them in different colors near his place and farther up river.

Any ideas?

Most of the orbs in photographs are specks of dust reflecting the flash or other light. People think they are spirits or souls. People don't often see orbs except in photos.

Some people think the orbs are angels. Other people think they are demons trying to appear as angels. Muslims think the orbs are djinn and are terrified of them.

Back in the eighties, my brother Kevin took a picture with a Polaroid One Step Camera at my grandparents' house in Piqua, Ohio that had a faint, but distinct Asian woman in a kimono with a wide brimmed hat in it. We have now idea how that happened.

I've somewhat researched it and , quite often, I end up in some photography site. No photos involved here, just personal sightings.

Many years ago I briefly considered going to school to study parapsychology. At that time, it was not considered a "real" science.

I’ve never seen them, but think it’s an interesting phenomena. The accounts I have heard of have been eye witness and not photographed related as well. I think there is a lot more to this word than what science can explain so I chalk it up in the “not sure, but fascinating” category

When I was an undergraduate at the University of Dayton, I read a number of the volumes of the "Journal of Parapsychology". I also read the entire Irish folklore section and some of the German, Scotch and English folklore sections.

I've never seen one. Don't tend to believe in stuff like that.

But 5 members of immediate family claim to have seen one. I'll tell their story in case any of you are interested in it.

Would've been late-70s early-80s.... hot summer evening, still daylight out. They were sitting in the back yard, just hanging out, talking. They said a very bright green light about the size of a softball came zipping in, hovered for a few seconds about 6 feet above the ground, made a slowish circle of the backyard around them, then zipped away again.

I don't know what to make of it, but they all 5 claim to have seen it.
