Was told I need to start posting again... Well going home in a few days so ... Anyhow going though some locks today. Broke tow pushed on though tied it up went got the other right when I got off watch and yeah. Was hoping to see some critter as I've seen deer hogs and even flamingos hanging around these blocks but just buzzard today. Anyhow. Water , boats , barges

So apparently there not native but storms then to blow them in from time to time. Not a rare thing but not super common

Actually not too bad. Also I'm one step from being on top as far as being on the deck goes . Got another 200 something days to go for that advanced tankerman. But the wheel house guys in here keep bugging me to go and at least try to get into the steersman program....but idk. Feel like I'd lose my mind just sitting up there driving for 7 or more hours at a time lol laugh ....but at least then there would be better A/C and less wrangling deckhands laugh

As for the steersman, I once had to deliver a boat from Maine to Long Island, I found it extremely boring, I let the guy with me run the boat, I kept occupied navigating and giving instructions, lol
and if anything goes sideways it's the fault of the guy in the wheelhouse, period....
