So I set my first trap yesterday(only had time to set one) and checked it today. I think a cow stepped on it but not sure cause it was sprung but wasn't bent so not sure. Reset it. I also bought a couple snares but haven't got the hang of them yet.

Coyote and fox sets?

Coyote. Lucky if I get a fox or bobcat due to the rarity of them.

Catch anything today?

No, rained all day today. Was planning on remaking that set and make a few more but its rained like 2 inches so ya. But on the positive side, my trap wasn't sprung so that's good I guess. Still tryna figure out how to set snares... But thats all for day 2.

So, kinda late here, but last night I went hunting, didn't see anything and didn't have anything in my traps. I also didn't have time to set anymore so hopefully this afternoon I can.

Set couple more traps yesterday and went hunting tonight and almost got a good buck...planning on either going hunting or setting more traps tomorrow.

Sounds good pofarmer... rember cable restraint don't start till next month for us. I need to go reset all my k9 sets sometime and I'm about to buy 4 dozen Duke dp traps so I can trap coons. I have a fur buyer skull buyer and pecker bone buyer so I got a good deal. $50 roughly a coon

And today I had two traps set off, one I think buy a cow again and the other, the trap was pulled to its full length but their was no circle so the animal must not have been in the trap long. Not sure what it was though but that's all for today.

As of today I just reset all those traps(been pretty busy lately) and might set some more this afternoon. Got some tanning stuff ordered so I'll be ready if I get one.

Moved now to my hunting property. Been having to many issues in the pasture land with cows to even bother. Put two sets in yesterday and nothing in them today.

Well, put in a couple more sets and found some beaver and otter sign. Might start trapping them. Scouted a new hunting area and might be putting a new stand up but probably not til next year.

Put in 2 beaver sets, not saying they're capable of catching anything though.

So, haven't caught jack yet so pulled my traps for a week and wait out this cold spell supposed to be negative 8 and I hate K9 trapping in that kinda weather so yeah.

Just a term for saying I caught nothing. A synonym for anything.

What???? The cold spells when they run. I missed a coyote due to rain that froze the ground above my wax dirt and my trap didn’t fire and it’s been freezing rain since but anytime it gets real cold the yotes and fox run

That's what they say. But for me, this goes for deer hunting too, around here, they don't run when its cold. Way more activity when it's warm. Also if your traps all get snowed over with 6 inches, ain't much chance of catching much. Also, I don't have any antifreeze at the moment to keep them from freezing. Need to get some salt but yeah.
